windows / vitre

As boundary between outside and inside, a window is a force field that subjugates light, by refracting, reflecting, obscuring, revealing, much as water does. Windows are a human intervention, typically urban in context, so they often speak to the social condition. Best of all, they harbour virtual worlds, allowing the photographer to enter improbable geography and space, sometimes several spaces simultaneously. Windows can generate magical images that suggest fantasy and metaphor.
